Meet David

David Barnett is a Client Services Associate based in Augusta, Georgia.

After years in the financial services industry, David was drawn to SFM’s refreshing client-centric approach, which empowers him to meet client goals while building authentic relationships. Clients find David approachable, communicative, and trustworthy—someone dedicated to acting in their best interest.

Before joining SFM, David served as Chief Operating Officer for an Augusta-based SaaS company. Prior to that, he spent eight years in corporate banking, where he earned a reputation for delivering consistent communication.

During his time at larger banking institutions, David witnessed how many clients were overlooked. This inspired his move to SFM, where he saw an opportunity to serve individuals who felt underserved. At SFM, David is committed to delivering optimal outcomes for clients through clear communication, and genuine, long-term relationships.

A proud Augusta native, David is deeply invested in his community. He earned a B.A. in Communications from Augusta University, spent two years as a caddie at Augusta National Golf Club, and actively volunteers with his family at Stevens Creek Church. He is also involved in 28Bold, a nonprofit his wife founded in 2014, which has brought clean water to nearly 20 communities in Africa by installing wells in villages without running water.

David and his wife, Christan, have been married since 2007. Their oldest son, Harrison, recently joined the Air Force. Their middle son, Collins, is a student at Augusta Christian, where he enjoys basketball and golf. Their youngest, Baylor, attends Euchee Creek Elementary and loves basketball, soccer, and singing country songs in the car with her dad.

Outside of work, David hosts a PGA TOUR golf podcast, enjoys playing golf at Champions Retreat, and loves attending country music concerts and comedy shows with his wife. He’s also an avid reader and podcast enthusiast.
